Ed Keturakis has more than 25 years of agribusiness and natural resource management experience, and served as a member of the Horticulture Innovation Lab's International Advisory Board until 2023. As Principal, Agribusiness Advisor Keturakis served as member of the executive team, supporting the program development team on specific opportunities as well as leading special projects.

Previously at CNFA, Keturakis served as vice president, Program Development where he led the strategic direction and design of agricultural market systems development programs. Before joining CNFA, Keturakis was a senior agribusiness specialist within the Global Practice for Trade & Competitiveness at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), part of the World Bank Group. At the IFC, he worked closely with Ministries of Agriculture and Commerce in more than 20 Asian and African countries to implement smart, enabling environment reforms for agribusiness. Prior to that, he provided technical assistance to Abt Associate’s portfolio of economic growth activities and contributed to business development that resulted in more than $100 million of new funding in the economic growth portfolio.

Throughout his career, Keturakis has managed USAID-funded projects and advised agribusinesses throughout Africa and Asia on their start-up and growth strategies. He also has first-hand experience as an agribusiness entrepreneur, as co-owner of a small processed food export and marketing company with factories in Turkey and distribution in the United States, and as a commercial beekeeper in New Mexico, managing a 4,000-hive honey production operation.

Keturakis began his career as an agroforestry volunteer with the Peace Corps in Niger. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Benedictine College, a Master of Science in Biology from Truman State University and a Master of Science in Food Processing Engineering from ENSIA-SIARC (Ecole National Supérieur des Industries Agricoles et Alimentaires – Section Industries Agroalimentaires Régions Chaudes) in France.
